Bruce Springsteen - The Storyteller - adults

Bruce Springsteen is a master at crafting stories  suffused with musical passion.  For students of English it's fascinating to feel how a song is like opening a book to a short story, more often than not about the challenges of life. Tantalisingly his tales often leave you the listener/ reader the task of filling in the gaps!  Meanwhile the melodies behind the songs draw you into the emotions underlying the stories.

This didactic concert explores ten or more of Springsteen´s stories. From childhood inspired songs (Used cars)  to contemporary tales of Mexico- U.S.A.  migration (Sinaloa cowboys) to great classics such as "No surrender", "Hungry Heart" ,"Dancing in the dark" and of course, "Born to Run" (the perennial song about youth rebellion)  ....to heart-rending war time tragedy (Devils and Dust) and the famous "Born in the U.S.A." with its tale of a Vietnam veteran's suffering on his return home. There's also Springsteen's Oscar winning song "Streets of Philadelphia" for the film about an AIDS victim.

Minimum level of A2-B1 English required.
