Bruce Springsteen - The Storyteller - adults -B1

Bruce Springsteen is a master at crafting stories  suffused with musical passion.  For students of English it's fascinating to feel how a song is like opening a book to a short story, more often than not about the challenges of life. Tantalisingly, his tales often leave you, the listener/ reader, the task of filling in the gaps!  Meanwhile the melodies behind the songs draw you into the emotions underlying the stories.

This didactic concert explores ten or more of Springsteen´s stories. From childhood inspired songs (Used cars)  to contemporary tales of Mexico- U.S.A.  migration (Sinaloa cowboys) to great classics such as "No surrender", "Hungry Heart" ,"Dancing in the dark" and of course, "Born to Run" (the perennial song about youth rebellion)  ....to heart-rending war time tragedy (Devils and Dust) and the famous "Born in the U.S.A." with its tale of a Vietnam veteran's suffering on his return home. There's also Springsteen's Oscar winning song "Streets of Philadelphia" for the film about an AIDS victim.

Minimum level of A2-B1 English required.
